I grew up in a classical mining region in the Ore Mountains, where mining relics of many centuries are still omnipresent. I first studied prehistory and classical archaeology in Leipzig, as well as medieval archaeology in Tübingen. In the last years of my studies and my master’s thesis I dealt for the first time scientifically with the Montanarchäologie and could reconstruct the operational sequences for a mine gallery of a medieval mine in Dippoldiswalde. Afterwards I was employed for two years at the State Office for Archaeology in Saxony and worked there closely with the ArchaeoMontan project. This gave me a lot of experience about the mining relics above and below ground, as well as their documentation.

Since spring 2018 I have been working as a research assistant in the archaeology section of the BMBF project at the Department of Montanarchaeology in Goslar.
