Since the beginning of my studies in Prehistoric Archaeology at the Free University of Berlin in 2010, I have been working with photogrammetric recording techniques and their application in archaeological documentation. I received my master’s degree for a thesis on the quantitative comparison of different excavation techniques using photogrammetry and volumetry.
Initially, as a photographer and later as the person responsible for photogrammetry and 3D modelling at various excavations in Germany and abroad, I was able to gain experience in the digitisation of finds and findings. My task in this project is to carry out tachymetric measurements and photogrammetric underground photographs and is a technically interesting challenge. I am happy to find ways to model the mine workings as well as to reconstruct and animate the mining models. I find the interdisciplinary cooperation with colleagues from different fields particularly inspiring.
